District 24-4A: El Campo has clinched a playoff berth and will likely be the second seed in Division II. To become the top seed El Campo would have to defeat Lamar Consolidated and have Rosenberg Terry lose to Katy Seven Lakes.

District 30-4A: Beeville and Calhoun have clinched playoff berths and will battle for the top seed in Division II when they meet in Port Lavaca.

District 24-3A: Wharton can clinch a playoff berth as the second seed in Division II with a win at Needville or a Columbia loss at Brookshire Royal. If Needville defeats Wharton and Columbia beats Royal, Wharton, Columbia and Needville would finish in a three-way tie for second. The district uses only positive points with a maximum of 18 as its tiebreaker. As a result, Wharton enters its game against Needville with six points and Columbia goes into its game against Royal with 18 points. Wharton could lose to Needville by five points or less and still advance to postseason play.

District 29-3A: Gonzales has clinched the Division I playoff berth and Cuero has secured the top seed in Division II. The winner of the Yoakum-Palacios game at Palacios will clinch the second seed in Division II.

District 27-2A: East Bernard and Boling have clinched playoff berths. East Bernard will be the top seed in Division II. Boling will enter the Division I playoffs regardless of the results of its game against East Bernard in Boling.

District 28-2A: Schulenburg will be the top seed in Division II and Rice Consolidated will enter the Division I playoffs. If Industrial defeats Rice Consolidated in Vanderbilt or Edna beats Weimar in Weimar, Industrial will be the second seed in Division II. If Rice Consolidated beats Industrial and Weimar defeats Edna, Weimar will be the second seed.

District 31-2A: Refugio has clinched a playoff berth. Refugio would be the top seed in Division II if Taft wins at Skidmore-Tynan or the second seed in Division II if Skidmore-Tynan defeats Taft.

District 31-1A: Falls City and Pettus have clinched playoff berths and will be the Division II representatives. Shiner and Flatonia will battle for the Division I berth in Flatonia and the loser will be eliminated.

TAPPS Division IV, District 4: Hallettsville Sacred Heart could wrap up the top seed with a win over Katy Pope St. John XXII on Saturday in Hallettsville. A Sacred Heart win would give Shiner St. Paul the second seed. If Pope St. John were to win, the teams would finish in a three-way tie.

Nominations for the Advocate's all-area team will be accepted next week. Nominations should include a player's classification, position, height, weight and statistics. Coaches of playoff teams may send nominations when their season ends. All-district teams are also needed. The all-district teams will be published after the season with the all-area team.
