DeQuervain's tendinitis is the medical name for what Parenting magazine calls "Mommy thumb." The magazine says about half of new moms develop it, usually from habitually picking up their babies by hooking their hands under baby's arms.

December's calendar seems to fill fast, so mark this one now: Nancy Angelini, whose lectures combine science and natural healing, will speak in Wichita on Dec. 7.

Her seminar, at the Hyatt Regency, will begin at 7 p.m. and will focus on women's health, including menopause, stress and weight loss. It's free, but reservations are requested: Call GreenAcres at 316-634-1088.
