"The rink (Copps Coliseum) is about a 10-minute drive from Millgrove," said the Knights' rookie defenceman. "He's at home and I'm here. I talk to him all the time and it always helps."

Especially after the weekend Corey just experienced. The six-foot-two, 185-pounder was drilled head-first into the boards in Friday's loss to Owen Sound, then took a puck in the mouth Sunday against the Soo Greyhounds.

"Danny said it -- everything always happens to the rookies," Corey said. "The hit from behind, I wasn't knocked out but I felt tingling in my neck so I knew not to move until Branks (trainer Don Brankley) got a look at it.

"(On Sunday) I was watching my man and took my eye off the puck and A.J. Perry tipped it -- you can put that in -- right into my mouth. I didn't lose any teeth, but on Monday, I couldn't open my mouth so it was a struggle to get any food into it. I lost some weight, which wasn't too good, but it's a lot better now."

He's not the only Knight with a brother in Hamilton. Import forward Sergei Kostitsyn's older brother Andrei is with the AHL club shared by Montreal and Edmonton.
